Yowie Bay – Renovation, Pool Cabana & Outdoor Living

A substantial renovation, extension and outdoor living upgrade on a battle-axe waterfront property, including internal remodelling, a new pool cabana, terrace construction and upgrades to the surrounding pool and landscape areas.

The Yowie Bay project involved renovation of the existing kitchen, dining and lounge areas, together with major improvements to the rear outdoor living spaces.

A new pool cabana was constructed with a concrete slab over, creating an upper terrace and additional entertaining space overlooking the pool. The surrounding pool area was also upgraded, including retaining walls, feature walls and landscaping works.

Managing access, levels and essential services

The property was located on a battle-axe block with multiple homes positioned down the site toward the waterfront, which meant access and services required careful planning throughout the works.

One of the more unusual challenges was the lower-level bathroom drainage. Because the sewer could not drain by gravity back to the street, a pumped sewer system was required, including a collection pit, electrical supply and pumping equipment to transfer wastewater back up to the street connection.

The combination of internal renovation, new structural work around the pool cabana and terrace, and upgrades to the external areas required careful coordination across several different parts of the property.
