A substantial renovation and first floor addition involving major changes to the front and rear of the home, a new double garage, extended living areas and a complete external upgrade.
PROJECT SUMMARY
Reworking the existing home to create more space
The Sylvania project involved demolishing the two original front bedrooms and extending the front of the home to create a new double garage. The existing garage was then partly demolished and modified to allow the lounge room to be extended into the former garage area.
A new first floor addition was constructed above, creating additional accommodation and significantly increasing the usable space within the home.
The project also included a complete new roof, full external rendering, a new driveway and upgrades to the front entrance and surrounding areas.
THE BUILD
Major structural changes within the existing footprint
The main challenge was coordinating the new garage, extended lounge and first floor addition with the existing structure while keeping the overall form of the home balanced and practical.
Reworking the original garage into additional living space required careful structural alterations and coordination with the new works at the front and upper level.
The result was a substantially larger and more functional home, with the new garage, upper level and external finishes giving the property a completely updated appearance.
